EXPOSING FEMALE GENITALIA Message board Forward to friends

I've often wondered why this is never discussed - how much of the female genitals is "acceptable" to expose? Unlike men, of course, ours is hidden between the legs and lips. For us to get the exhilerating feeling of the sun and wind on that part of the body, it's necessary to spread them - and I mean specifically when I'm on a beach, and a not-so-crowded one. I'm interested in how others feel about this because it may seem perverted, but to me, the main reason for being nude is because it feels wonderful to have all of your senses alive without the restriction of clothing between your body and the great outdoors!

I was visiting a new nudist resort this summer, and laying by the pool was a woman; shaven, spread-eagled, pink labia glistening in the sun.

That's not a typical "sighting" at a nudist resort, as the women there tend to be a little self-conscious of their labia being "out and open."  But no one seemed to care much.  I've visited many resorts; but this one seemed to have a more "laid back" approach to nakedness.

My wife has tanned with her legs open; but never spread-eagled at the resort.  She told me that she thought that what she was seeing was a "bit much" lol!  But at the same time she "got it": she said that it was nice to be that relaxed and enjoying the sun "everywhere" on her body.  I think the more it becomes accepted and natural, the more it'll be ok for women to tan that way.

well said, and i agree... hopefully this post and ur longer post about ur wife's evolution in comfort level will help other women get past enuff 'positional' baggage to be better able to enjoy all the natural sensations in whatever position feels best, enjoy the attention they deserve, and forgive all who enjoy the view....

Don’t see any reason why you should have to hide anything, after all it’s natural it’s part of your body, being naked means exposing everything, feeling wind and sun on everything or whatever your relaxing indoors,  just ignore these prudes.

I dont see why exposing our vaginas would be a problem. I sit down or lay in my bed that way quite often with my kids in the room and we have never had any troubles because of it

How come its all men that are commenting on this subject?

Because most nudist women consider this a "private matter." You'll see an abundance of male posts about the penis; much rarely women posting about their vaginas.  Part of this is also because they don't want to give off the "wrong vibe" online and get unwanted attention.

But they certainly do have concerns/questions about it.  When my wife first started in social nudism, she did wonder about open-legged postures and shaving.  But instead of going online, she discussed it with other nudist women - in person.  One woman told her that the labia showing was "unladylike."  Another told her to not worry about it and just be comfortable.  Still uncertain, she then simply looked at other nudist women.  After seeing that many younger women were shaven, she decided to try it for herself.  She liked the feeling and decided to stay smooth.  Then one day, while sitting by the pool at the resort and noting that some of the other shaven women tanned open-legged, she decided to open her legs just a little instead of keeping her thighs "glued" together; and found that it was really much more comfortable and relaxing - and decided to open up even more, embracing her newfound freedom and rejecting the notion that the labia should stay "hidden."  From that point on she really didn't have any more questions/concerns about labia "showing"; she embraced tanning/socializing with her legs open - not ALL the time, but whenever she felt good about it.

Just like my wife initially asked questions, she was also asked questions.  I remember one sarong-wearing newbie at a get-together who brought up this topic while chatting with my wife. She had noticed that my wife sat around with her legs open, and was curious how my wife felt comfortable that way.  My wife explained to her that she was totally comfortable with her nudity, "every part of it"; so it wasn't an issue. My wife's confidence impressed the woman; a little while later she took off her sarong and sat comfortably, legs open, with my wife (it was actually funny in a way because her husband had not expected her to undress; much less sit that way).  So women tend to motivate each other, in person.  Not happening online.

Anyway, my wife would have never shared those experiences online in a million years.  I suspect most nudist women feel the same way.

I don’t have a problem with a woman sunning herself, legs spread and fully exposed. I think   most of the issue is how we in the US are programmed our whole life what is allowed. There isn’t as much focus on nudity in Europe. Really, it’s no different than a man sunning every inch of his body, to sun those hard to reach places, you will have to spread wide and be in an awkward position.

    Jenna,

I personally feel that the Female Genitalia is beautiful, and a Natural Part of the Woman, and should not be covered up. You should not be ashamed of exposing  your Womanly figure, and that includes the Genitalia. Celebrate your body!

I don't see the issue unless all you want is attention, but I wouldn't see it that way on the beach! Personally, I like spreading!

I usually spread my legs while sunbathing on the beach. I don't mind if people stare. I've been doing it since i was a child! Though when I was 11 I stopped for a while due to body changes and pubic hair, but I started again at 13. I don't see a problem

My wife lies on the beach knees up legs apart and enjoys people staring at her parts! Getting sunshine on the hole of her body!

i dont think there should be much discussion, any position is acceptable for naturist, true ones of course, but voyeours will stare at clothed ones or semi exposed, nevertheless a nudist and wind taking positions, the problem is to find a place for naturists only, not mixed perverts, voyeours and naturists

The nudist resort/club, particularily the family-oriented ones, are typically more "conservative"; and usually voyeurs and exhibitionists are weeded out.  Thus, it is a safer environment for women to be comfortable.  My wife never had any issues there with open-legged postures.  Sure, people do look; but since they are more aware of etiquette and well-behaved, it's more "gazing" than "staring."  Which is a lot less uncomfortable or intrusive.

That being said, spread-eagled postures are generally frowned upon at the family nudist resort.

The nude beach has no such rules and isn't as restricted.  So it attracts all kinds of people.

When the wife and I went to a nude beach on an island while on vacation, she took full advantage of the "openness" of the beach and sunbathed spread-eagled.  And consequently she was "stared at" by textile voyeurs.  Some women with an "exhibitionist inclination" don't care or even enjoy it.  But it can be a pain for a woman who doesn't like being stared at.

As far as my wife her attitude was "if they want to look and enjoy it, good for them, I don't care; we don't live here anyway."  But that's because she has grown comfortable with people looking at her and sees it as a compliment.  But for a woman who is not that confident and wants to sunbathe naturally, the nude beach might not be the best option.

I agree with Jenna6000. The main reason for nudity outdoors is to enjoy nature. However, I am also a bit of an exhibitionist. I like to spread and be noticed.

It is similar for men if you get a erection on the nudist beach it is frowned on by other people ,providing you are not showing it in a sexual way it should not be a problem,  a fully erect throbbing penis is a very beautiful thing to look at Young should not be a shamed to show your erect penis on a nudist beach providing no children are around, men be proud of you erect penis and show it to people who enjoy looking at men,s erection,s.

I don't really feel you can compare an open-legged posture from a woman - or even erect nipples - to a throbbing erection from a man.

Granted, if the woman is completely smooth or has a large labia, there can be more of a "visual" element there.  But unless she is an exhibitionist, she is just relaxing/sunning in a way that's comfortable to her; and not purposefully "displaying" herself.  As opposed to an erection which has a definite sexual connation.

I am not passing judgement here; I'm just saying they're not quite the same thing.

It is perfectly natural to let the wind and sun reach all parts of your body whilst at a nude beach, and its really up the individual and especially the ladies how much they expose, as long as either males or females are not practising sexual activities its perfectly OK.

    I agree with that.

Whatever a woman is comfortable with without trying to seem like she is just trolling.. More usual it seems that men have to be the more concious of erections and such around groups.. Many treat that as being perverted if not kept in check.. but as you say your buns are well hidden.. and if by chance you display a cameltoe or more I have never known men to complain..
