What is a Man? Sort by:

While it is fairly common for  woman to undergo hysterectomy or oophorectomy surgery losing her reproductive organs, nobody would think of her as anything less than a woman. Of course if she had been planning children this is still a tragedy, but I'm trying to get to the crux of sexual identity here, so please pardon any insensitivity on my part.

Men are quite protective of their testis (we all know it doesn't take much of  bump to cause pain) and most of the ones I know feel that their manhood is centered within them.

I find it strange that many women have shared their hysterectomy stories with me, I've never heard a man tell of his orchiectomy (castration). Yet looking at medical statistics I find that castration is not at all uncommen.

  • Do we men hide from the world if we get castrated?
  • Do we feel we may nolonger qualify as men at all?
  • Assuming a man having lost his balls can still get it up, would the girls still find him or his dick attractive and sexy?

Marialuca,

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

You point out that many men would like a bigger penis, while I tend to agree with you on that, I've never wanted more than I have, rather I've been keen to learn what it is that pleases my partner and try to fulfull her desires as best as I can.

You also  make a very good point when you made it clear that you wanted the person not the testicles. Your affirmation is so important, a vain man is a man in his own eyes, a strong man is a man in other's eyers.

Although I'm quite happy with my penis I've often thought that my balls are too big and are often in the way. Though I'm aware that they are pretty important to health (from a hormonal point of view at the very least), I often wish I could have them radically reduced in size or perhaps taken out altogether. I'm not planning to get this done, however, but I've come to wonder how women would regard me when naked on a beach somewhere if there were no balls behind my penis.
