Magnetic Island, Australia Posted on Aug 06, 2014 at 04:25 AM

Magnetic Island is a great place to escape the cold winter of southern Australia. The 3 hour air flight from Melbourne can be as inexpensive as $120 Aud (one way), providing that you book online during one of the many sales that there are. The camping fee per night per person is in the range of $10 to $15 Aud. 20 kilos is allowed for checked-in luggage plus you can carry an extra 10 kilos as cabin luggage. So there is ample weight allowance for a 3 person hike tent, a summer sleeping and mattress. The weight alowance even covers swimming gear, if you are feeling lazy and do not want to walk to the nude beaches. I,myself, will be walking. I will be there for 4 lovely weeks, mid-August to mid-Septerber.

Balding Bay Posted on Jun 07, 2014 at 03:31 AM

It was cloudy today on my favourite nudist beach, Balding Bay Magnetic Island. The temperature was great though, about 28 c. Certainly worth a  three hour $120 flight from cold southern Australia. I am hoping for a sunny day tommorrow. Magnetic Island has about 320 sunny days per year So the odds are in my favour.

Farewell Kings Beach Posted on Apr 02, 2014 at 03:23 AM

After visiting Kings Beach on most days for a month, it was sad to say farewell until I visit the area again. KIngs beach is in the Byron Bay area of NSW Australia. My next nude beach experience will be on the nude beaches of Magnetic Island Queensland Australia during the month of June 14. I am looking forward to Balding Bay, Rocky Bay and the west end of Horseshoe Bay. The water will be warm and it will be sunny everyday.

Kookaburras Posted on Mar 08, 2014 at 01:31 PM

I woke up this morning to the sound of kookaburras laughing. Later on I heard a bush turkey. There were 5 other bird calls that I could not identify. It is noisy in Australia. The bird life is prolific. Will I go to Kings Beach or Tyagerah Beach today?

Broken Head Nature Reserve Posted on Mar 08, 2014 at 05:28 AM

I went for a walk to Broken Head Nature Reserve today. The view of the beach and surf, through the coastal  trees was just magic. The temperature was in the high 20's. There was a soft breeze blowing. It was the perfect day for the beach. Broken Head is in northern NSW Australia'
