While I am having day after day of blistering weather, near 40c everyday, I see my nude brothers and sisters in GB are enjoying highs near 20? With rain and white clouds? My goodness Brian, and you wonder about tan lines? Come on, tell the truth, nudist clubs in GB are all held at tanning salons, yes?

Not a week for Nuddies in the UK, We have had heavy rain off and on with very short periods of brighter weather between. One place had 4" of rain in just 24 hours. Generally it been dull and overcast. The problem for specticle wearers (Like me) is with all the humidity, our specs steam up!

Hahaha, oh really guys, all this was just a chance to have a bit of fun. I suppose you could acclimate to weather so cold and wet and be nude. I mean, I am from Seattle. There is a joke there, Seattlites don't tan they rust. People with tan lines were immediately asked where they had gone for vacation. It does amaze me, though, with a high of 19 and rain, that you frolic at the beaches nude. Along these lines, a friend of mine in Orlando had a note pinned to her refrigerator, "Friends in NYC have to remember, Floridians freeze to death at 22 C." Along these lines I am headed to Seattle in a couple of days for the weekend and have a question in to a friend if I need to bring my parka - I think there highs are about 18 or 19 right now. I am only half teasing with my question about the parka. It doesn't take but a year of 40+ degrees to get uncomfortable with 19. Actually, I am not sure what the normal temps this time of year are for Britain...maybe you too are in a heat wave? Take care, and have fun...

Agree with all Brian says.

One thing I'd like to state though is I am a 'single' who has happily been a club member for some 3 years now. Singles can find it rather hard to join clubs though personally I did not find any difficulty and my club does have a fairly stringent vetting process and likes to keep a reasonable balance between the sexes. At my age mortality is on my side it has to be said - how many widows are there in their late 50s / 60s compared to widowers?

Another interesting statistic is that there are far more 'official' naturist beaches in the UK than in Italy despite their obvious climate advantage. Although there are Italian naturists of course it is very much a minority pursuit.

As Brian says we do live on an island and there are plenty of beaches both offical and unofficial. The mere act of being naked outdoors is not an offence in England so long as it does not cause alarm and distress or words to that effect so there are lots of places you can be naked if you wish.  I live in a land-locked county - Hertfordshire which is quite close to London and there are 3 or 4 clubs in the area.

I tend to use the club sauna when it is cold, wet and miserable but we definitely do not have a tanning salon!

Adam, Actually we have a good selection of Naturist Clubs in the UK. A list of these is in the Mag H & E which has run since the early 1900's. The National Organisation is British Naturism (BN)that fights for our 'rights' We also have what are called 'Clothes Optional Beaches' which are effectively Nuddy beaches. With Britain being relatively small, unless you live in the Midlands etc you do not have too far to travel. We live in East Anglia (on the Norfolk/Cambs Borders, our nearest beach is Holkham which is just 35 miles away and just 1 mile from where we moor our boat at Wells next the Sea, North Norfolk. Of course there are many places that are used unofficially as well. On the East Coast it can be windy though, so you will need a wind break. As for Naturist Clubs, whilst there are exceptions, many seem to be against the so called Single Males and either limit numbers by operating Quota's or even not allowing any. Some commercial venues have an 'open door policy' for all. All in all we have a lot of freedom, hence when we see the lots of 'Pale Faces' and White bits on folks that are on sites, it makes us wonder about the opportunities they get to go nude.
