Where did summer go?
95 Views          11/09/11
Seems summers go by much too fast. Here it is November and hunting season is here. It got so warm today I even thought of hunting naked. But we need to wear two articles of orange, and boots don't count.
I am spending the winter out here at the camp this year. I spent last winter with a friend as I recovered from my heart ablation.
This year I got into raising rabbits instead of the goats I had. I have American Chincillas and Silver Foxes. I also got two Guinea Hogs gilts and hope soon to get them some male companionship soon.
Only four months to maple syrup season. When I get boiling down the sap it is usually warm enough to sit outside the sugar shack nude and start on my tan.
Hope everyone has a safe nude winter.

A lot has happened this year.

My parents came back from sunny Fla ths spring. I moved from house sitting their place back to my camp, in April.
Decided to have a garden near the camp. The only flat area was shaded with pine trees. No problem, cut them down and up into 4' and 6' lenghts. Left the stumps about 5' high. This was to hold the wire fencing to keep the goats out. Then it was a matter of laying the logs to make raised beds. After having dug the compost from last years goat pen enclousure and filling my new beds. A little sifted dirt was added to the top.
While I was making the beds the doe goats all had their kids.¿ Have had three die from being wet and cold and or being laid on. Then my mother had a heart attack and was in the hospital when they found cancer in her lungs and¿liver. After two weeks in there she suffered another heart attack and went into a comma. She was being kept alive on life support systems only. I took my father down and the Dr explained it to dad.¿Dad being hard of hearing did not understand all the Dr said. Then I told dad and he said "pull the plug". I told the Dr my mother did not wish to be kept alive on life supports systems. They took out her breathing tube and died 15 minutes later.
I was given the opporunity to take an early retirement from L.L. Bean's. I took the lump sum payment .After having my younger sister die the year before with a heart attack, I decided to leave while I could. Then the death of my mother came.
I re-placed my deck supports, finished fencing in the goats, raised some chicks, cut fire wood, borowed my brother's tractor to dig water bars and fix my road into camp. Stripped off the singles and re-placed them with new ones. Built a sugar shack to boil down the maple sap in the spring.
Another big event was getting divorced a couple of weeks ago. My wife left about 8 yrs ago and we would meet for a date once a month or so. Then she got her license to drive tractor trailers and wanted to be free to fool around on the road. Now¿ I'm lonely and looking for campanionship. I got so lonely I went back to L.L.Beans, last week¿as a seasonal employee for the Christmas season.
I actually met a young couple (24 & 30) that spent two weekends out here with me at camp. We were all naked the whole time and enjoyed each others company. Having bbq's and skinny dipping, and drinking beer around a campfire at night. Thenwe played¿indoor games at night.

15 inches of snow, 2 inches of ice means cold swim
336 Views          12/23/08
I'm house sitting this winter and go out to my place to feed and water my livestock. After the 15 inches of snow on Sunday it was a challenge today. The snow sled¿got plowing too much snow before getting bogged down and stuck. Went to shovel out the mailbox and snapped handle on shovel. Plan B go to my neighbor at end of pond¿and walk in from there. Got stuck when backing out of his long driveway. He had to pull me out. Walked up pond checking thickness along the way. Snow was up to my knees except where it blew off some but then there was 3 inches of water under the less deep snow. Made it up to camp finally. Fed up and went to pond to get some water for them. Was chisling a hole when the ice made a cracking sound and and broke under my feet.¿I found myself trying¿to jump to the shore line. Slid down into pond. Sure is cold when your boots fill up. Finshed chores and headed back to car, 1/2 mile down pond. Finall got there and went back to house and stripped down as much as I could and got into shower. Melted ice off jeans and boot laces before I was able to get them off as well. Cralwing off to bed with the electri blanket on finally felt good and my feet finally got feeling in them. After a short nap it was time to leave the heated bed to go to work. And to think I have all winter to repeat this, except for the dunking in the pond.
